Need rain

I think the folks on yt all agree that we all need rain. On a personal note I've been noticing (myself included) everyone is irritable and argumentitive. A good rain would set us all in a better mood.
 
Well, a few of us got lucky. We had a thunderstorm last night that left one and eight tenths inch in the rain gauge. This brings the total in our area to about eight inches for July.I'm not braggin', just thankful, and if I could share with you folks, I would. Had been dry before that. Most of North Carolina had been under some drought classification. But you are right about one thing. The dry and/or extreme heat will make folks a bit touchy.
 
We're in the middle of a storm right now - might get 2" when it's all done. But crops up this way haven't seen the drought that is stateside this summer. Corn here is tall.
 
Agreed! I can"t remember Central Nebraska being so dry. The dryland corn looks miserable. The pastures are gone! I see quite a few trucks moving south from north of Kearney full of silage...looks like chopped up dryland corn. And you are right about it raising the stress factor around here.

We have had 4" so far this weekend here in PA, stress level is much lower now. It was very dry, should be enough to get all but the worst corn to some sort of maturity.
 

Here in Central WI, it is real bad. No rain all for about a month and a half at least. Things are very bad, in sandy soil areas (most of this area) the corn crop is gone. Hay is very bad too. They are talking the drought will last till October at least, not good talk. The rain just keeps going around us......
 
I'll be honest,if it held off til next Sunday I'd be fine with it. We had 2.5 inches between a week ago Wednesday and this past Friday. I've got a bunch of hay I'd like to get cut this week to get another cutting coming on from scratch now that we've got some moisture and cooler temperatures.
