Pray for son with growth in colon

My prayers are with your son and your entire family. Realy keep a positive outlook on this as I've been through this and came out pretty well. Good luck to all involved.

I spent 6 days on a floor where patients were in surgical recovery from cancer.
Best description was purgatory with all the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. The patients and family all cried and kept saying " I wish I had......... "
Go and get checked and find cancer when it is in the recoverable stage.

I had 13 polyps removed during my first colonscopy. Had my 2nd colonscopy 2 years later and had 14 polyps removed. Went back in 2 years again and only had 3 polyps removed. Had my 4th colonscopy last month and had 10 polyps removed. Doc said that I grow a lot of them, but they are slow growing so I need to have #5 in 3 years.

All were pre-cancerous but could easily have turned into cancer if not removed in a timely manner.

I hope your son recovers quickly and gets regular check ups.

My sister had a small lump on her neck back in Dec 2007. We all met at her place for Christmas. Her family doctor never referred her to get a biopsy of that lump. Our daughter is a Nurse Practitioner and she told her to find another doctor. The results of that biopsy wasn't good news. They told her up front she had non hodgkin's lymphoma and wouldn't survive.
She died 3 months later and was very thin.

Every family member over 35 that has a family history cancer should get a complete physical every year, also get a colonoscopy before you're 35 if there's a family member diagnosed with cancer. I think I had to pay a $50.00 copay when I had mine. Told me to come back in 10 years. I'm with Kaiser Permanente. Hal
PS: Have the option of changing every Nov.
