Congratulations to NASA

I hadn't looked for an update yet this morning. I'm glad it was successful. They used a new landing technique that used a tether rather than the usual parachutes.

Yea, congratulations to NASA. We had the Viking program land on Mars way back July of 1976 and was operational until it died in 1982 by human error. Imagine the egg on their face of this one had failed.

I am also thrilled. Very complex systems sometimes do work when they must. Even if it is only once!! It makes me proud. Jim

Just remember like external_link says they didn't do it by themselves they used my money and yours so congratulations and thank you all for your contribution.

Just like the moon landing, did not occur. Only difference, better computer generated cartoons.

Ha! Just kidding. I do believe in space exploration for missile offense/defense only.

The money was barrowed from red china, that's how we finance everything nowdays.

It is a great accomplishment, for sure!

No telling what they will find with this rover...

Really a fascinating time to be alive!

I just wonder how much time the cameraman had to set up his equipment before "curiousity" arrived.
