Diesel fuel

No the fuel itself won't go bad,but there is a chance of algae growth,or moisture contamination from condensation,or moisture getting in the tank.
I started an old d6 that had been sitting in the weeds for 15 years on the fuel that was in it. Changed the oil and filters and ran the whole tank of fuel out of it without a problem.

The test for diesel fuel is among the easiest in the world. Look at it- if it looks good, its good! The algae problem is either there, or its not- if its there, will mess things up within the first year or two.

I had some in a Tractor for 20 years or so and it turned to tar. It was a pain to clean the tank and screen but after spinning the motor a while it blew the gunk out of the injector pump with lines unhooked.

There are test strips that you can get from the oil company that you stick down in to tell if and how much water there is.
