Hey,

any of you in Alberta near Calgary?
(quoted from post at 13:49:35 08/09/12) Dave,
I'm not sure about this but I think that Lyle Niemi is in Alberta. You
might try to contact him on Tractor Tales, too.

BTW, what's so special with the Canadian horse??
Go to Holland and go see a Frisian horse," the Cadillac" among horses IMO
Your wife may change her mind
/b:c528d44e42]Yep,...safest place on earth (quoted from post at 16:07:40 08/09/12) I live in Alberta, but I'm north of Calgary, closer to Edmonton. If you are going to move a horse to Europe get in touch with the people at this web site.http://www.curlys.ca/. They are just down the road from me and I know they send some of their horses to Europe. As for site seeing or touring the Calgary area has some of the best in Canada. You can go an hour west and be in Banff. If you have any other concerns just ask, I'll tell you what I can. As to safety concerns Alberta is about as safe as any where in the world, [b:c528d44e42]Nobody shooting at you, no disgruntled postal workers.
A friesian IS THE horse (quoted from post at 14:17:47 08/09/12)(quoted from post at 14:05:49 08/09/12)

[b:8e51de31e2]Looking for THE horse... [/b:8e51de31e2]Just happened to be up there. Not crazy about the horses over here for our breeding stock. We bought a stallion just this of the border from Holland. Kept him over winter, bred a few mares, and sold him. Just didn't click. Can't beat the 4 mares we imported from the states tho....
[b:8e51de31e2]Where is Northern Alberta??? [/b:8e51de31e2]Lookin on google maps, there ain't nuttin up there.....
ifles are legal here,.al one needs is a firearm aquisition license and you can buy as many rifles as you like, but for the automatics and hand guns a special permit is needed.(quoted from post at 18:23:58 08/09/12) I thought personal firearms were outlawed in Canada? Where did they get the guns? Law didn't work very well did it!
(quoted from post at 21:44:39 08/09/12) She could check out Spruce Meadows just on the outskirts of Calgary towards Banff. It's the premier show jumping set up in Western Canada. Ian Miller, Eric Lamaze from Canada compete there quite often. Teams come from US, Britain, Germany quite often also. Try looking at sprucemeadows dot com for schedules. I think there's a pretty big show coming in September
(quoted from post at 17:06:20 08/09/12) I give up... I thought you were the most conservatie individual on this board, using all those old tractor and stuff ,, now you are airing a horse from Canada.. You have really been pulling one on this old country boy.. Wish I could help you get the animal from Canada to Texas, we truck west all time but all heavy equipment, Have never hauled a horse.. Good luck with your project. O I always read all your post, you really make this board interesting.
(quoted from post at 04:05:26 08/10/12) Hi Tom ,yes you are correct with the information on Willie N. Mark did have a fire tender vehicle that was rented/leased to the Fire Forest Protection Services and was alway's busy during the dry weather season and alway's lots of energy for other projects when time was available. Mark was posting at one time of some health issues. There has not been any posting from Mark for a long period ot time. Mark alway's got quite involved in some of the topics post. Cheers, Murray
(quoted from post at 04:33:47 08/10/12) I dont leave home much but I have been down to COW TOWN a few times, seems like a nice city

What QH bloodlines are you looking for? There's a QH breeding farm near me that is going out of business and they may have something you're wife would like.
Jim
(quoted from post at 05:20:18 08/10/12) www.winridgefarm.com/ but they may not have the bloodlines/color you're looking for. Have you tried putting an ad on Craigslist in the DFW area? There are a lot of cutting bred enthusiasts that live around this area. I know the older bloodlines are getting harder to locate.
(quoted from post at 06:16:36 08/10/12) Be careful now Dave2,
People might get the mistaken idea that you are lacking in people empathy. These threads are such fun to participate in.

(quoted from post at 06:20:46 08/10/12) Other than approx 17 cities where most Canadians live,
most within 2hrs of the US border. There isn't much for roads
and population in Canada. Ocean coasts on three sides.
Boreal forest with abandoned logging roads, Canadian
shield(rock) and tundra.
You don't have to travel very far north of the US to have
just a logging/mining road, winter only roads, rail lines and
float planes.
Most rural roads north of the cities are just to access
summer cottages.
Trans Canada highway, trans Canada railway and roads
between cities. Then some branch roads through farming ,
logging and mining areas. Can drive for hours without seeing
another vehicle.
Unpopulated and empty compared to Europe.
Even when compared to the US. More land area and 1/10 the
population.

Dave2: A long way from Canada; but Take a look at this link>

Some of Old “Two Eyed Jacks” get were great performance horses, gentle to handle but usually had a little buck in their system under saddle for the first few times.

Dave 2:
How much red tape to cut, and how many hoops to jump through regarding the shipping of frozen semen?
Do you have a couple of brood mares that you may want to phase out in time?
Any merit to using a couple of your brood mares for AI, in an attempt to get a Stud colt to raise for the future?.
I have been told you have the maximum of about a weeks’ time frame on shipping the frozen semen.
Just thinking out loud again.
