I have a 4500 Mahindra with shuttle problems. It won't go into reverse when it's running.
not a hydro transmission and everything looks ok inside. It's been a good machine and does 95% of the work around here. I had hoped it was the detente ball, but that looks ok. Any ideas? Thanks.

A Deere. You mean one of those foreign tractors? Many "Deeres" are made overseas. Ya might wanna check to see where your's came from. And, don't jump on my back, I bleed green.

You say you BLEED GREEN---The last time I seen a Mahindra it was painted RED!!!Last time I looked in my shed My JOHN DEERES were painted GREEN & YELLOW made in Waterloo Iowa!!! 35 mi. from my doorstep. 8130--8760-4240-3020-R---Maybe you should see if China has a webb site you could get help fixing your GREEN Mihindra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. My John Deere 5303 was made in Pune, India.

Comparable American version was $8000 more. Couldn't justify it.

It's been a very good, basic, tractor.

Oh sorry, was this a Mahindra question? 'Cause I have no idea.

I forgot my new 5095M and loader--so JOHN DEERE does make small tractors in the USA--I guess it is just a matter of PRIDE!! USA-USA

Is it truly made in the U.S.A.? or merely assembled in the U.S.A. from imported parts?

Not trying to pick a fight, just curious.

After reading the replys, I thought about ranting, but that would have been as useful as the replys. The same JD was about 7 to 8K more than the red machine. I've heard just as many complaints about JDs', Fords, Case/IH, etc.. I guess I'll stay over at "Implement alley". Those folks ARE helpful....and usually know what they're talking about.

(quoted from post at 23:23:04 08/21/12) JUNK IT AND GET A DEERE!!!!

USAonly
You need to read other tractor forums than this forum that the newer tractors of all brands are discussed more frequently. You'd find out newer JD's aren't as trouble free as you think they are.
