This is the weed that infested one part of my field, my oats didnt have a chance there. The chemical will come out next spring. Organic farming is not logical according to SPOCK!

Organic farming is extreamly labor intensive, (Weed Control). Crops don't grow without nutrition, animal poo helps, but can't provide everything. and It has caused food poisoning. (Remember spinich and peanuts) (example) Beets and beet greens are said to be great sources of Iron, and said to be very good for us. If there is no residual Iron in the soil, how do beets provide us with high Iron input. "perhaps it's in the air" HeHe, so perhaps we should breath deeper.
Fertilizer, Insecticides, and Herbicides, and Genetics, put food on our tables!
There has been much talk about nutrition on the news lately, and they say there is no significant health benifits to eating organic food. My wife and I eat from our garden year round and our wild game and fish come from the family farm, which practices modern day crop fertilization, weed control, and pest control practices.
If you think organics are the way to go, do it . we have many struggling organic farmers in the area, and they need all the help you can give. I hope they can survive, as they are a part of our land base, and rural economy, here in central NY.
