i have a customer super mta i'm restoring and the lower part of hood and front grill are white and appears to have been painted that way from factory as original colors as the decals are still original and back side of lower half of grill is also white. is this some type of demostrator model or a custom paint combination from the factory most demostrators were all white and i have never seen one painted this way and couldn't find any on the internet painted this way either

The only white demonstraters were in 1950 and ONLY on the A,C, and Cub. The purpose of the demonstrator program was to push the smaller tractors to increase sales. Some people who know more than me say that the primer comes through as white in some cases. Also it was not uncommon to have a tractor re-painted to look like the newer models. Is there any chance that a grille off of a 450 will fit a super MTA? Just a thought. someone here will know more just wait a bit and they will show up.

I've seen a bunch of Ms, Super Ms, MTAs, and even a few Hs painted that way. It was a trick that dealers, and even owners used to make their used tractors look like the NEW Farmall 350s and 450s. If your Super MTA was repainted sometime in the late 50s or even early 60s, The paint and decals are old enough by now to have an original appearance.

It was common practice to take 1 or 2 year tractors on trade for new. The dealer would then repaint the tin to look modern and fresh. It was not a Demo scheme. There was a white M but it was the 1,000,000 Farmall produced. Jim

There was an Illustration of it that made me refer to it as white. (IIIR) if I incorrectly remember) the man driving it was derssed up and had a brimmed felt hat. Jim

Dont recall ever seeing that one, but I have seen one where the 1000000th was on the hood decals, with a caption reading how it had been updated with just about all the options M&W had at the time, or something to that effect. Ill have to dig back through my recards here at home and see what else I can come up with.
