Well, I brought my girl home yesterday afternoon. She has been in rehab since last Friday, working very hard to get ready for this. Her only complaint about the rehab center was, because of her still open wound, they would not let her in the pool. This is a woman who would live in the pool if she could.
It's now 5:00AM, and I just got her up and moved into the recliner for the rest of the night. She was adamant about not having a hospital bed, but lying flat and not being able to change positions cramped her up pretty bad. She may be re-thinking that idea.
She is SO GLAD to be home that she may put up with more inconvenience than is good for her.
My sister and a friend have been in three days this week, cleaning and straightening up. A storage container was moved in yesterday, and we are going to move bunch of "stuff" right out of the house, to give her more room to get around. Another friend is coming today, and we are going to get the rails and grab bars up, so she can use the bathroom and shower.
She will be getting regular visits from a home health nurse, to change her wound dressing, and check up on her condition. I am not sure if a physical therapist will be visiting, or if she will be going out to PT. The doctor said she shouldn't return to work until the wound is completely healed.
With her at home, I will not be spending as much time on the road, and away from home, and I hope I can get some of my fall work done.
