battery cut out... anyone use this type???

(quoted from post at 19:15:32 10/24/12) If your tractor is in good condition, why would you need one.
o help prevent fire as a result of rodents chewing wires, to prevent battery drain when tractor isn't used over a long period of time (months) caused by the ever-present voltage regulator drain on modern alternators. I'm sure there are others.

I just installed one like that on my Super M, put one on a 65 corvette and that switch is also a Kent- Moore special tool for finding a parasitic draw on a battery.
On the tractor there was a 3/8 threaded hole on the transmission straight below the hole on the battery box so I sawed a post of an old battery, drilled it out and bolted it to the hole in the trans. Then I tapped 3/8 threads in the male end of the switch, soldered a terminal on the batt. cable and bolted it to the switch, works good and looks clean.

Yes, have one on our Referbished WC. Drilled a hole in end perpendicular to other hole, inserted stripped battery cable into and used factory hole for solder. A little heat shrink to dress it up and it has worked well for our application.

If your Starter is activated by a Solenoid, it is easy to install a Key-Switch (Ignition Switch?) that kills everything, including the Lights..

For Manual linkage type starters, you would need a Master Switch to kill the starter..unless you install a heavy Solenoid in the Battery/Starter Circuit..

(quoted from post at 14:10:28 10/24/12) What do you think of these??? ......
Think they are worth anything? about antitheft (???)....

I have used these on My Wife's 2N and My Ford 640.
Generally they work OK. But I did have to replace one a month ago on the 640.
The cast plastic knob worked loose from the bolt and would not hold the bolt securely and thus you could not tighten it down. Don't think that I over tightened it.. just went to screw it down and felt it go pop, then the green handle just spun... &*$%# Back to the barn for another part... Whole day went that way.

As for Anti-Theft, Naw..., this will not slow down any real tractor rustler.
But it might keep the grandkids outta trouble.
