Worthless thieves

A guy has a field of corn back in behind a hay field of mine that I'm going to plow up next spring anyway. Easiest way to get big stuff to the field where the corn is,is across my hay field. So I told him to go ahead and take the combine and truck in that way. It's been raining a lot,so he just took the combine back, had the truck and 5th wheel trailer out by the road and was coming out to dump every time. He came out to dump and discovered somebody had gotten in to his truck and took 2 cell phones,2 coats and of all things,a new gathering chain for the combine, still in the box. They had to have heard the combine running and knew he was right there,I could hear it all the way down at the house.
Takes some guts. I just don't know why somebody would have taken the gathering chain too? There were fuel cans in the back of the truck and they didn't take those.

He was very lucky, usually they take the truck and leave things like gathering chains!!!!! By law we have to lock our stationary vechicles over here...I have noticed on my travels in USA that you guys are more trusting?

Most leave the keys in them around here. Maybe the thought of being shot is a deterrent???

My loss is insugnifent value wise but demonstrates how bold thieves can be.
This morning (10-27-12)I stopped by the mens room on the way in to watch pee wee football. Proped my stadium cousion seat against the exterior wall which is clearly visiable from both bleachers. Gone when I came out. The mascot and logo on the seat repersents another grandsons team 40 miles away who never competes with either of todays teams. Kids don't use those seats and you would think an adult would as soon wear a stranger's underwear as set on a stolen seat with a mascot on it not repersentive of thier team. Wonder which "percent" they are amoung.

Not hard to figure out how they dare to steal. If caught they get a free government lawyer and will be back on the street within a year or less. If they are shot and live they can sue the person who pulled the trigger and win. Where is the threat for doing wrong?

The I-96 shooter just fired on two more cars this morning near Fowlerville and hit one motorist. If they do catch the perp they will play legal games with the shooter and be let go within 5 years.

Senseless shooter? NO, senseless legal system.

Pretty sad when they get to robbing farms right next to their own field. Probably stole the chain for scrap $$$$. Had a few break - ins not far from my place, but the cops caught the "kids" red handed. They were trying to break into a garage in broad daylight to steal a motorcycle. Funny part was the ownwer"s own kid was involved.

The combine sat out by the road when I went up to cut stalks. After that happened,he said he didn't even dare do that while they went and unloaded the trailer. Said he was afraid the batteries would be gone when he got back.

My brother went by our place to check on a tractor today and some one had stolen our game camera. Wish I was joking.

File a police report in case the stuff shows up. Check/call scrap dealers in a 20 mile radius and watch craigslist and E-bay for the chain. Might want to check with your cell provider law requires newer cell phones to have a GPS feature to facilitate 911 response to cell phone calls, over 1/2 the calls to our county 911 are from cell phones. If the phone is on or being used they might be able to direct law enforcement to it. We are up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin (across the river from the U.P) and have the GPS, you should have it enabled in lower Michigan, there is a lot more people there. In the northern part of our county we only have about 1/3 of a person per square mile (except during deer season). Heck our county has over 230,000 acres of county owned forest land.

Probably kids. Around here that sruff doesn't happen often but once-in-awhile some riff-raff comes in and breaks in somewhere.

About a week ago a guy near here rented a house and was gradually moving in day by day as he had time. Went to the house with some more stuff one evening and the house had been broken into. He lost meat out of the freezer and some appliances. The sheriff told him he had better be there the next night because the thieves might be back. Renter drove up to the rental house the next night and there was a pickup parked in back. A guy came out of the house and charged at him. Oh, I didn't tell you the renter is an ex marine and has a license to carry? Renter pointed the laser sight on his handgun at the thief and told him to drop. The thief dropped and was on his belly screaming not to be shot when a woman came charging out of the house. Renter ordered her to the ground too and she oblidged. Renter called 911 and it happened a deputy was close by. When the deputy drove in and had control the renter put the handgun in his pocket. The deputy did take the handgun away from him, probably a standard procedure but I'm sure the renter got the gun back.

The thief and his woman started talking and the law found two houses with the stolen goods from this house and from three other unsolved burglaries, along with some drugs. They arrested a third person later. The burglars will probably get a slap on the wrist and be set free but when they are free again they won't be bothering that house again. Jim

Its going to be "bar the door Katie " unless the election puts someone else in the white house. If not everyone and everything is fair game

Too funny to pass up- you went to the men's room on the way to watch pee wee football? We have a fun language!

We had a neighbor that drove his tractor over to our pickup in a field near his. He got off his tractor and got in our pickup and headed for town. He wanted to get more to drink without his wife knowing about it. But when we quit for the day, we discovered that he had also stolen two Crescent wrenches out of the back of the pickup.

I had a trail camera stolen off my property last spring. When I went in to get one for replacement, I was talking to folks in the store and they were telling of how it seems a lot of trail cameras are being taken. I was thinking that the companies could be putting those GPS trackers in the cameras too. I was also told how local police were using trail cameras to catch vandals.

need to change the law to confiscate the houses involved. might make it hurt a little more. I dont understand why they get probation with out giving something up. Should have to tell who bought the hot stuff and hastle them too..
