so far ok in nj

we are in central nj,everything is good so far,Took a lot of pictures in pa over the weekend, but the computers flicking in and out ,so I will post them another time!

Still about thirty miles east of us. Drizzly here today, and just started light rain. Been raining hard over in Cecil County. They are now calling for blizzard conditions in Western Md. But the main blast is supposed to be right over us. Gonna be a fun show......?

We are about 2 miles from the Cape Cod canal here and some breeze, a little mist, and that is it. Went out by the water between high and low tide and it was a bit high, but not too bad yet. Chainsaw and generator are ready to go and the Octoberfest is on ice. Not too worried here yet either.

F.I.L. called from Va Beach. He's pretty nervous. Said they already went to the church to sign up for help if they need it.

Stay safe.

Good here in Central NY. Got a lot of "fall chores" done today. Garden hoses picked up, rolled over the 4YD compost pile with the Kubota 2150 and loader, mixing all the garden debries, leaves, some cardboard boxes from a sidding job, and some cow poo from the farm together. It'll be nice stuff next summer. Also picked up all the lawn furniture and stowed it away. Trimmed the lower branches off the Evergreens that were lower than the ROPS on my mower, and a couple of white birch limbs that were overhanging the driveway, and rubbing on the car and truck when we backed out of the driveway.
Retirement is good! finally got time to do these things before snow fall when it becomes a necessity.
As for the "Storm Sandy", some schools in the area are closing at noon tomarrow., due to the prediction of many power outages due to the wind, and low land flooding.
I started my Diesel Gen. two days ago, and have a near full tank of heating oil to run it on. I haven't used oil to heat the house since 2010. Have heated with wood and suplemental Wood pellet stove. Put in a older Royall wood/coal boiler, (Freebe), from a job where we installed a new High Efficiency boiler, and installed it into my garage, about a week ago, and hooked it to my radient system in the house. Cozy warm floors will feel good again. Plan on spending a lot of time out in the shop, where I also installed two unit heaters, salvage from another job, to finishing a lot of uncompleted projects this winter, and yes I have wood, all cut, about 16 cord all seasoned.
Food wise the wifey and I have preserved Asparagus, spuds, mators, beans, green/dried, peas, carrots, turnips, parsnips, squash, summer/winter,corn, beets, cuks-pickles, garlic, dill, parsley, fennel, for pickling and V8.5 juice, Our Strawberry crop was poor this year, but we bought some Penn, Peaches this fall and canned them.
Let Mother Nature impose her furrey, the wiffey and I are ready

So far we haven't had any rain here in central NC. They say good chance Monday and Tuesday, turning quite chilly. One reason for the concern about the coastal areas is Monday's full moon, which brings high tides anyway. Combine that with what ever Mother Nature throws in and who knows?

I'm in ne MD near the PA and DE line. I'm probably 100 miles from Atlantic City and we've had 1.3" of rain and the wind hasn't been too bad so far. Suppose to change later today with high winds and about 8" of rain. Not much activity out on the road this morning. Schools
are closed and the county government is closed.
