Where to buy christmas tree seedlings?

I am from Pa and am wanting to buy some christmas tree seedlings this spring for a family project. I'd like to buy around 50, maybe 10 each of 5 varieties. All the nurseries I see sell minimums of 100 of each variety. Is there anywhere I can buy what I am looking for? Thanks,
Josh

not sure if you have a conservation district out in PA but here they have a tree/order program every spring and you can buy evergreen type/bare root trees in lots of 25 and up price is not bad either cnt

Josh, Check with Lawyer Nursery in MT. Like Musser, etc. also check the price differential between 10 of each and 100 of each; you will not like the answer. There are other places butI just cannot remember now. That's what I get for growing trees for over 20 years; it's harmful to your health.

Contact your state forestry service.
Ask for seedlings or bare root stock.
Here you must do it early as the demand usually outstrips supply.
They will generally arrive late April, will come bare root and must be planted soon.
Both coniferous and deciduous species are available. I had better luck buying two year old stock (at 3 times the price)
Of the couple thousand seedlings I planted between 1987 and 1992 maybe 10% are still alive.
None of the Walnuts, Butternuts, Red and White Cedar, Black or blue spruce have survived.
There's a few Jack Pines left and a couple of white spruce. Mostly what survived 3 bad drought years and heavy deer browse was the Red or Norway Pines.
Though I don't own that land anymore I can still point to a couple hundred Red Pines that are by the road that are 4" in diameter now and say I put them in with a tree spade.
Contact your county soil service or county forester too.
They will have the info you need and we pay all them bureaucrats for this so use them.
Plant trees.
Trees are good.
Thanks for the reminder too. I still want some Cedars...

Like Casenutty said check with your county conservation district. A lot of them have spring tree sales to raise money to operate.
I worked at our tree sale for years.

I've had very poor luck with trees purchased from our local conservation district. Often in the single percentages survive, even the first season. Bought a bunch from a local nursery supply, had far better luck. (At a far higher price.)
