According to my chart -30C is roughly equivalent to -22F!. Which is about as cold as I've ever experienced here, and then only briefly, and I hope never again!

I have a TO-20. My dad has a TO-20, which I spent many hours on. Gotta be the best antique small tractor ever made. As far as I am concerned, the 8N was a copy cat. Feguson did it right.

Aint saying they're bad tractors mind you.
But TE, TO, TEA 20 came out in 47 or so.
By which time Ford had already built nearly 307,000 9/2/8Ns.
So I guess you could call Ford a copycat.
Sort of...

To hell with the tractor ,how about the KW cabover! I love the 2 stories with the shack on the back and the chrome stacks. 10-4 good buddy. 78 ish I'm guessing . Would love to buy one with the 3408 cat.

Reminds me of a similar trip a few years ago when I went with my neighbor to pick up his 8n. Had a trailer like yours pulled by a pickup. Looks like you traveled fairly level ground. We had nothing but 60 miles of snow covered hills. Many white knuckles.

That first picture is beautiful. NE Wisconsin's a little drafty
this time of year, but I think you've got us beat. Winter
certainly has its beauty.

Yes sir, you got that right!

I've got my grandfathers 20-85 that he bought new in 52.

icked up the KW this summer for 500 bucks and drove it home. Its got a 350 cumins under the cab with a 13 speed, brand new front tires. m thinkin I paid to much fur it??? PS bought it from a little old lady... true story

What are you going to do with that? The cubs need a new mower or is it going on the mantle?
Must have antifreeze in it or it would be smiling by now.

You get to the boarder and I'll give you $1500 ! Those are getting hard to get here in the states. Most are whipped out and to far gone. I like the KW ones the best.
Here are my two baby's. Yellow w900 is my current truck. The green was the first truck I bought on my own.

I had to sit on that seat to steer it into the shop, lets just say from walnuts to peanuts!!! lol

Dog just remember that Harry Ferguson and Henry Ford had a handshake agrement and Henry's grandson broke it and
Harry took Ford to court and got 19 million dollars in 1947 because it was his patten that made the ford tractor. If you look at it that way the Ford was the coppy cat.

Bob

I agree... Somewhat.
Yes, we all know about the handshake agreement, and how later, Ford lost the lawsuit to Ferguson for patent infringement.
Harry had a world changing idea with the 3 point hitch. Henry recognized it's potential and it was him (FoMoCo) that built the tractor to use it on.
Now part of Harry's genius was the draft sensing mechanism in the top link. But the 9/2Ns only had draft control on them. As did the TO 20s.
It was the Ford design team that came up with position control on the 8Ns in late 1947 which was the crème de la crème as far as 3 point functionality goes.
By the time The Fergies added position control on the TO 30s in 1951 or thereabouts Ford had already built nearly 343,000 8Ns that had it.
Again, I'm not saying the Fergies are bad tractors.
But to suggest the Ford Ns were a copy of the Fergies is just not historically correct.
