having extra time while on c-putr, looking thru farm/garden, cars/trucks, etc.. going thru cars, i see a [j-d if it matters, lol] 2005 model for $4000, yea right, with nothing to do for a while, i flagged that one,,, i know you can"t get rid of these scum bags scamming, but i had fun getting rid of this one...

The first sign you are dealing with a spammer on craigslist is no phone #, price is too good to be true, and send money.

There should be a legal team set up to put those people in jail.

I've flaggen many, but the same ad comes back.

Craigslist needs to do a better job too.

Lack of a phone # is not necessarily indicative of an spammer. I don't put one in my legitimate ads, because I don't want gag calls, and my phone # used to ID where I live. I can get your address, through the internet services, with just a town name, and a phone #. I agree, if the price is too good to be true, it probably is...

The idea of a phone number locating you is the reason I went and bought a "Magic Jack" I have had it for a year now and it works like a champ. The area code and phone number for the Magic Jack I have puts it about 250 miles north of me.

I just purchased the new system that doesn't need a USB port to operate.

As for spammers, they are what they are. Dirt bags.

I put an ad on CL looking for some items/parts All i have gotten is some kind of internet dating emails from gmx.com I made mistake of listing my email. any suggestions on this???

I tried Magic Crap and couldn't here the other person talking it doesn't work on my cell service 3G Internet. Went to Verizon for $20 a month unlimited calling works great.

I found a decent used cab for my 1206 IH on CL at 1/2 the going rate. Add had the wrong name and no phone number. I took a chance and emailed the seller with my phone number. Turned out to be a farmer I know, my kids went to school with his kids kinda thing. His daughter (MSG US Army assigned to the DC area) didn't want him bothered with crank calls and didn't put the correct name because she didn't want folks who knew him to bother him. At first I thought it was a scam because of the lack on info and the price.

I use hotmail for my email. I have set the "filter" to exclusive. That means only emails from people in my contact list get through. Any emails from addresses not in my contact list are automatically zapped.
