Garage heater

Finishing up our new shop addition. Addition is
right at 1000 sq ft and is a framed building on a
concrete slab. Shop will be insulated in walls and
on ceiling.
Is anyone familiar with Sterling gas heaters?
Plan to put a 75K btu unit hanging from ceiling
and vented to outside. Have looked at Hired Hand
etc but most are hog house/chicken house heaters
and are not vented per residential code
requirements.
Coldest it gets here is 20-30c low at night .
any thoughts?

If you only get down to 20-30c (68-86F), I would be looking at AC not heat. I assume you meant 20F.

I have a GordonRay Infrarad tube heat in my place. You can get away with less BTU than you can with a hanging furnace, but you need to have a fairly high ceiling, if not you will cook your head and anything close to the tube.

I have a Sterling heater suspended from the ceiling of my shop. It uses outside air for combustion. I figured that would make it less likely to set fumes on fire if an accident should occur. Very happy with it.

You might want to think of two smaller units. With two smaller units you could have both on to bring the temperature up and one on to hold the temperature. It would be more comfortable than the on or off of the big unit. Just my thoughts.
