This old house part one

We stopped on the way home from town Sunday and took a few pictures of this old farm house before it falls the rest of the way down. Because of all the growth around it we only see it this time of year and last year the front porch had not clasped Sorry no tractors in these but there is a stationary bailer in the last one

So sad to see a home left to neglect like that.
Think of all the love, struggles, hard work that
went into that house when it was a home. Now
forgotten, left to wrack and ruin. If walls could
talk!

Larry O,
Geez, I love photos of old buildings! Would love to be there with my camera.

The only things for which I will tolerate 90 degree heat, humidy, large mosquitos and weeds taller than me are old buildings and old iron. Thanks for posting.

Yes Ray and there are more of these setting around South GA. Than one person can count all though not many are as big as this one. Some of them are only a few feet from the road some farther back like this one but all of them hidden by the trees and vines except for a couple months each year there are two more long low buildings that were probably animal barns still on this property and a lone stationary bailer.

Right now Sweetfeet it is only mid 60 to mid 70s in the afternoon and no bugs because it get to cold at night plus it is to cold for the snakes or at least they are not moving fast

Whenever I see a house like that, I have to wonder what it looked like when it was newer, well maintained, with folks living in it.

Larry O,
What I was referring too was the MN heat, humidy and bugs that I will tolerate just to take photos. Though sub-zero here this week - so no worries about any of those things.

Now that you mentioned snakes...I don't think I could wander around in the weeds down south. Hate those slithery critters.

Always wonder the story behind a house like that, there are many here in Michigan too.

Did the family go belly up? Did the kids move away never to come back? Recluse w/o kids?

Guy down the road took it upon himself to restore a giant two story farmhouse. 5 years into it, he is almost done. Great looking place, and most important he saved it.

Um, "How dare you trespass on private property and take pictures of someone's home and post them on the internet? Shame on you!"

I think that's how it goes...

Man you aren't kidding on that. I got accused of trespassing and burglary when I posted about an old farmstead I had permission to be on last month.
