Well I got out of jail on Tuesday late night and I feel much better taking half the drugs thank god they almost killed me.
I'm getting stronger day by day hope to be back up soon. In two weeks I go to see my dr. And then they will decide on the dephib/ PM darn things costs over $100,000 sure glad I got good insurance. So far all I've spend money on is my part of the meds. And $24 for a walker that cost $104.
I'm finally able to get a full nights sleep without some turkey wanting something. That's the best thing.
Well will let you know if I go back to jail.
Walt
PS They put an alarm on my bed so I couldn't get up at night or day too.

walt, glad you are feeling better!! did they do a bypass?? i had my heart attack a week ago last friday. they augered out an artery that was 100% blocked and stuck a culvert in there to keep it open. (thems my medical terms) i am taking effient, ecotrin aspirin, lisinopril, metoprol, and atorvastatin. dang pills make me tired all the time. have an appt with the cardiologist wednesday. know what you meen about the good nights sleep. dang vampire nurses came in bout every two hours to draw blood. hospital food aint the tastiest either. keeping you in our thoughts and prayers!!! get well soon!!!!

hey Glenn,

I agree on the hospital food! I was in there for a week or so and was about ready to storm out with tubes a'danglin.

Wife smuggled in a t-bone steak for me (think the nurses might have ignored a bit) and it really improved my mood.

Glad that you are doing well.

Glad to hear you're doing better, Walt.

I was in the horsepistol Tuesday and Wednesday last week- had a very slight stroke (right arm tingly, couldn't control right leg well enough to walk very well). Went to ER Monday night, admitted to hospital, and was completely recovered by the next morning. But it took all day to do all the tests. Got out Wednesday afternoon, back to work (desk jockey) and feeling fine Thursday.

Was pleasantly surprised at the level of care at the local hospital, though- good food, everyone seemed competent, ER crew was @$$ holes and elbows when I came in (Stroke and heart patients go to the head of the line, I guess- talking to a friend later, he walked into the ER by himself and complained of chest pains- lady punched about 3 buttons, and a gurney and about 7 folks seemed to materialize out of thin air). Got examined by a neurologist 100 miles away by computer screen.

I had a "self-lumping" mattress- series of air pockets, changed the air distribution every once in awhile so you don't get bed sores. Most uncomfortable dam thing I've ever seen- you just get yourself situated in the hills and valleys, and in 30 seconds, the air pump comes on and moves the lumps around. They did get me a different bed the second night.

Had sucessfully avoided all meds until now (age 64), as had been my goal. Blood pressure was barely on the OK side of marginal and overall cholesterol was OK (but "bad" was too high), but they still put me on Plavix, Lipitor and a blood pressure pill (hydrochlorosomething-or-other. Was expecting side effects, but I actually feel better than I did before.

A "wake-up call", I guess. "Old is not as good as young, but its better than dead", as my grandma used to say.

They saved you and you call the hospital jail-you call the nurses that come in and check on you turkeys-you are a real work of art-

hey glennster watch out for those generic drugs they
will make you feel tired.they put me on a lipator generic 3 weeks ago just switched over to lipator brand and what a difference the aching calves went away along with 90% of the tiredness

When I was in the hospital I thought the food was pretty good. I was used to truck stop food at the time though. Never had that much attention from cute women either, before or since.

Had all pretty girls in the Salem Hosp. Then went to KP In Clacamas all ugly men that you wonder about.

As much gratitude as you show to the medical profession I wouldn't let you back in the hospital-I would call the rendering truck.

I had one guy come in at night for blood, I think my first night there, stabbed my arm 3 or 4 times before going to the back of my hand. There's valves in my veins right where they like to stick you for blood.

Had some visiting nurses for bloodwork, ended up with a clot. They only gave me 2 weeks worth of blood thinner with a pretty much immobilized leg. The one was quite cute, and quite nice, but married with kids, and I don't think grandma liked it when she was the one they sent.
