Well NY liked my truck, 3 new tires and it passed the states hook up for the inspection. Breath of relief for another year at least! Lol, next my ford truck is due, that also needs tires! But no emissions on the diesel! Lol, better start looking for tires, gee I hope my tractor tires last another year! Lol,

It's always a relief when the vehicle passes inspection. I remember working for the School Bus Company. Illinois inspector would drop by any time and inspect all the buses. He found a bad muffler one time and waited there until I torched it off and took it out of service. The same day he found one decal missing on the rear emergency door. I installed a new decal and all was good to go. Those two items weren't bad out of 50 buses. I always tried to keep on top of things and it paid off.

Here in Penna. in certain counties we have gas cap inspections for emissions. Another money maker for the state. The inspection stations have a very expensive machine, My friend paid somewhere over 10,000 for his. He told me it cost 500.00 a year for updates and maintnance.
The best part is if your gas cap fails, most stations have spares that they know are good, and use them for the test. You can't pass a safety inspection without passing the gas cap test first.

My wife's car had that problem, check engine light came on, gas cap filler neck rusted causing a evap leak, instead of paying big bucks for a new filler neck, we greased the threads to seal it. Lucky it worked, years ago guy checked my truck to make sure I had a gas cap on it, i said ya, but the other gas tank leaks gas, he said I don't care, law is u need a gas cap on it, no more rag stuffed in it if you lost ur cap! Lol, nothing but a joke!
