"SNOW DAY" 15 hrs, of average wind speeds of 21mph plus gusts in the 30s. Snowed all day, but no way to tell how much we got. I would guess maybe 4". My house is abit sheltered. The sugar house is not from winds like these from the East.
I formulate my weather report from a TV station 50mi to my east and another 40mi to my west. They both goofed this day. They said tempd low 40s, made 34. They said, no significant acumilation. They said it would be windy, I guess it was as they showed pics of an empty semi that was tipped over by the wind, east of here. Guess they got that wright.LOL They are now saying that the cruddy weather will stick around for a couple days, without the wind. Temp maybe 35F. I will see what things look like at the sap house tomarrow morning.All I did today was keep the boiler and fireplace stoked.

I hate this Loren, we got about 5-6 inches of heavy wet snow overnite, than rain from 11pm until 4:30 pm, what a mess, notice I asked about water proofing my boots? Lol, jims son got the 480ck backhoe stuck putting out a round bale, ran the case 400 out of fuel, as Jim left it near empty, than got the 400 stuck pulling out from under the barn cleaner as it was solid ice in the shed, they never chained the 400! I did learn one thing, I guess you can disengage the starter on the 400 so the engine dosent crank over, but you can bleed the pump this way??

Today we had highs up to 42 when the prediction was for 35. I collected sap this morning, from 25 taps I got about 30 gallons. It has rained most of the day since then so I did not go out again to check.

to bad about global warming , Al said getting warmer we will have more snow and if that don't work we'll have less snow .

My loads got changed so I drove west across Ks. today to denver. Winds must have been 50 mph from the north, practicly sucked the fuel right out of my tanks. lol

We got about 3-4" heavy, wet snow. Had the same wind as Loren. That was after the rain. I had to take the old JD40C and push the soggy mess away from the kennels and garden to the ditch. By the time I hit the ditch the water following me was about 2 1/2 feet deep. Had quite a river there.

@Zachary Hoyt:

Do you have the individual buckets that hang under the taps, or are all of the taps connected by hoses to one central collection tank?

I have about 3 inches of snow on the ground. Wet heavy stuff. Ground underneath is mud. Making it miserable to get back to the woods and half of my trees are down over a steep hill. Got 30 gallons of sap yesterday from about 20 taps. Would put out more taps if I could get more buckets.
