now wait a minute, depends if 2006 is the light duty or heavy duty. Light duty is only 6 hole wheels and heavy duty is 8 hole. Also depends if 2006 is 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive
My 90 Chev 3/4 4X4 is classified as K2500, light duty w/6 hole wheels, And I have a 96 K2500 3/4 T 4X4 heavy duty w/8 hole.

I thought Chevy changed the lug pattern on their 8 lug wheels around 03, but I could be mistaken. A tape measure will tell you for sure!

Bolt pattern is the same 8x6.5. Center hub hole should fit as the K20 shouldn't have the large lockouts like a dana 60 axle under a K30. Thing to be concerned about is the backspacing. A tape measure and a board across the face of the wheel will tell you quite a bit.

No 2500 made after 2000 ever had 6-lugs. Chevy changed their 8-bolt pattern for the 2011 model year. Went from 8x6.5" to 8x180mm. I thought the 6-bolt pattern also changed, but can't find that info now.

Just like General Motors to mess up a good thing. I guess I better start keeping up with the new vehicles...Oh heck why? I don't plan on buying a new one anytime soon..

Ya sort of like what they did with the GMC and Chev 1/2 tons back in the early 70s. The Chev had 6 hole rims but the GMC had 5 hole rims. I had a 71 GMC and it had the 5 hole rims but all the 69 Chevs I had same body style had the 6 hole rims

Pullin,
Here is what you want to know.

1973-1987 C/K truck (or R/V)
8x6.5 inch (6.5 inch is 165.1mm)
9/16 studs

Now the 1 tons were actually built through 1990 model year with the C/K bodystyle.

1988-1998 GMT400
8x165.1mm
14mm studs
And yes GM did make a K2500 (aka 3/4 ton with 6 lug rims in a GMT400 style)

1999-2006 GMT800
8x165.1mm
14mm studs
For the 06 wheel it has a 117mm center, just a touch under 4 5/8 inch.
GM made a 1500HD in GMT800 style that had 8 lug rims. You could also buy a 2007 model year in the T800 style, it was called a "classic"

2007-13 GMT900
2007-2010 8 lug is 8x165.1mm
2011-up 8 lug is 8x180mm
14mm studs
2011 was a mid model change for increased GVW.

Biggest thing is you want to make sure you have the right taper/shoulder on the lug nuts.

Short answer is they should fit, depending on backspacing and hubcenter, but there are no guarantees. There were a few hub and other changes along the way that I cant remember.

(quoted from post at 23:28:11 02/28/13) hi i was wondering if the newer wheels like off a 2006 duramax chevy would work on a 1985 K20? 3/4 ton 4x4. ? thanks

It is semantics, but a K-whatever is a GMC, not a Chebby. Just a half step better than the Chebby. 8)

Sorry dude but in that vintage truck a 3/4 ton 4wd Chev was a K20 and a GMC was a K25.
