Don't have a picture, the spring house is long gone. The dug well at our house used to go dry, it seems like most years, I remember putting a milkcan on the 11 hole drawbar of the Ford 8n and going down to the spring house about 1/4 mile and filling the can to bring back for the days water needs. The spring house was about 4'X6' and 6'tall with a peak roof sitting on a concrete box with no bottom. The spring ran year around possibly used as a can cooler at one time prior to 1949 when we moved to the farm. After the well was drilled we moved the shed up to the house, and it was used as a smokehouse til it burned down.

I don't have any pictures, but our well...and han d pump sat about three feet outside the kitchen. Dad enclosed it when I was about 3 1/2 and put in a surface pump right after we got electric.
Indoor plumbing came about 5-6 years later!
That was in the mid 40's.

I took this pic last summer of a irrigation well that was about 100 yards from the house I grew up in back in the early 60's. Back then it had a Chrysler 318 on it. I would lay in bed at night with my window open and that 'ol Chrysler would sing me to sleep.
Dad would crank the wells up about mid March and they would run pretty much non stop till early or mid September.
