This may be the most overpriced tractor I have ever seen

Start adding up the cost to build a flat head V8 then the rest of the parts, paint, tires and the labor it adds up quick. Looks like some very nice custom work. I bet he will find a buyer

I agree with some of the others , a lot of detail in the build and likely has 20 grand invested . there's a buyer out there for it .

That is a gosh aweful seat, why put am ugly old bus seat on a pimped up tractor?

Change the seat to something nice and it would be a 15 grand tractor.

Paul

That price is not out of line. The paint job on that tractor would come in around $4,000.00 with all the custom pinstripping. If the accorn head bolt nuts are stainless he has another $300.00 or more. If you add up just the new parts he is losing money and thats not figuring in the hours of labor.

I bet she sounds real nice!
I think it needs a Sherman "Step-up" tranny so she could really "git on down the road".
'course them 8N brakes might make that a little scary!!

Maybe you havent seen them all more out there with high prices just because some think its overpriced it just may be what someone is looking for.

If he can find some sucker to buy it, more par to him.
The person that buys it has probably deep pockets.
Its a high priced lawn ornament
It doesn't matter what the owner has invested in it.
Its still a trailer queen.

Now that's funny. I know a guy with a pretty much stock Farmall H that's got 4K worth of paint on it. Never mind the money he has in a total retoration and new rubber. I rather doubt that tractor will ever work for a livin again. He drove that tractor home new from the dealership when he was 12. Very nice looking and I can understand why he put that kind of money into it. But it's a TRAILER QUEEN TOO! I myself would own a trailer queen but have nothing against the people who do.

Rick

Considering you'll see other stock, restored 8N's bring $4K in the same general area I don't think it's terribly out of line. I saw a 4020 restored in a tractor paper last weeks for $24K, a 3010 for $21K. An 856 at $17 or 18K too. Shoot, you can't touch a stock Super M right out of the field for less than $2500.00 anymore.

What do you expect with our devalued dollar?

Hmmm,
Let's say I have an extra 14 grand in my pocket and I'm looking to buy another tractor.
Should I choose the red one on craigslist or this nice blue one?
Decisions, decisions...

Zach that is not as overpriced as you think. There are big bucks invested in that tractor. To me the UDLXs that are still around selling near $100,000 is ridiculous.

If you could find a way to lift the 3 point quadrant you would get a fun little ride on that seat! It doesn't mention whether the pump or anything is still operational - I'd imagine that wasn't a big concern.

I've sunk money into a tractor that I wouldn't ever get back, but it was to get the tractor out in the field for another day's work. Something makes me think that wasn't the driving force.

he stated he builds street rods, those guy don't spare any expences to build one, dought he hasn't either,, wish i had the money to buy it, just think, you could be the owner of one of a kind,, 13k for some ones labor of love, not too bad of a price, being it's a turn-key special,, as it called,, [[saw this funk "pics" for sale a while ago, he only wanted $8,500, don't have whole ad, just pics]],not thatgood on putr..

Rock Farm Chop Shop . Waners NY probably pinstriped by Brian O'Hara. Ive seen this before without the sheetmetal on it. Maybe build pictures with the dual carbs sticking up.

it would be interesting to see if this sells, me id offer 500 for it after all its a cheaply built box store riding mower with a nice paint job, its not one of aj's winning race cars or something valuable

A waste ??? unpractical..yes, useless...yes,how many 8-Ns are there left? how many earn a living ? generally speaking there is many more to be repaired and used in every day use and then there is the people that restore them and only trailer them to a show to be admired and yet there still a useful tractor but never get worked or used , so to criticize someone as wasting a tractor is some what shallow in my opinion .

Actually, there are a great deal of 9N, 2N, and 8N tractors still "earning their keep"! To waste one like this is beyond "shallow".....

I like it,But im not buying.A friend from w.v has one with a mecury fh in it.I love to watch him pull. It is always a crowd pleaser.

Guess I'll stick to my 4 wheel Marx train sets, and assorted operational and landscape stuff.

Tractors aren't the only thing some people think are "rare".

you really should read my post again , that is exactly what I said , there are plenty of them being used and plenty of them to restore and plenty of them that will be recycled into Chinese made tools , so as to say it was a waste is redundant.
you should go ahead and pick on the pullers also they invest 10, 15 or 20 grand for a plastic trophy.
Why be so judgmental.

I agree el...To call refer to it as a "WASTE" is yet another example of under education and being over opinionated.

Here

A flathead V8--Big Deal! They are a dime a dozen and about 50 to 60 HP.
I agree with Zach--Totally Over Priced!

Sometimes I wish they were "a dime a dozen" then I think back to the few I had and all the cracks between the valve seats to the edge of the cylinders, cracked bellhouseings and some that ran hot(not all but some). Then I say "nah". And all but the earlyest were well over 50-60 horse.
