Goin to get home tomorrow. Been out 6 weeks this time, that's a record and not goin to happen again. I just hope the dog remembers me. Goin to be putting a new alternator and battery on the 400 and dc so they will be ready for summer.

That's quite a run, hate to think what would happen around here if I took off for 6 weeks. Prolly come home and find all my treasures lined up in a yard sale and the bedroom painted blue.... . Enjoy your time at home.

Like I told you been a lot of years since I was gone that long but been there and done that. Really hard on the family especially if you have young kids; and one the common guy does not think about when they go to their local store and find all the shelves stocked.

But it could be worse; you could be leased to a bed bug hauling outfit. Ever wonder why they have such big sleepers?? Cause for some of them the truck is home.

My Dad hauled for a bedbug company in the 60's. Longest he was gone was 6 months. My brothers and i ran the farm.

Hauled heavy equipment back in the 80"s longest I was ever gone was 3 weeks chasing equipment auctions all over the southeast. Got out of that truck in 1988 and never really wanted to go back to it. Got married that year and the new bride didn"t want me gone all the time.Still have alot of respect for the people like you that do it and I try to be as courteous to the drivers when I"m on the road as possible. I know to give them as much room as can and then a little more. Don"t know if I could do it today with the way people drive almost got killed this morning on the way to work with some idiot passing me thru a intersection up a hill with a big rig meeting us. Luckily the rig driver just stayed in his lane and let the idiot hit the ditch somehow he made back on the road and went on.Never been in that big a hurry to get to work. Let me know when you get back down around Lakeland I"ll buy you a meal

They just wanted to treat you right by helping you to break in that new seat. How has it been? does it have the power of the old one?

Not even close on power, but milage is some better
altho not as good as I would like. I'm taking it in
for some minor warranty work and have the valves
adjusted this weekend. I hope that helps the milage
some. I may post a more in depth report next week.

Did you sit with a tech to go through all the electronic engine parameters before taking delivery. I picked up two Petes from Werner for a friend two and three years ago, and drove them back east for him. Part of it was to take the truck to the local Cat and go through about thirty settings to get it set for how my friend's company would be running it. Since they were hauling light steel I actually had them turn the horsepower down some.
