OT— Another flower thread.

Last weekend I did a little walking through the woods in and around Nacogdoches, Tx to try and eliminate a few wild hogs. Since the post on here of the flowers that I think was somewhere around the Appalachian trial I decided to take my camera with me. Glad I did...pig hunting was slow but I did come back with around 200 pics of various things. I figured I share a few.

Great pictures if you are not a pro. you sure could be those pictures framed right would sell easy for good money. Who knows we all may be reading about you someday right up there with the likes of Ansel Adams.

(quoted from post at 22:01:21 04/12/13) Nothing prettier than wild flowers in the spring. Whats that on the tree- Mud from wild hogs?

Yep! A pretty fresh mud rub from a mud hole that they had been wallowing in right in front of that tree. Not very big pigs though judging by the height of the mud on the tree.

I bought myself a Nikon d5100 and a 300mm zoom lens last year with my tax refund and
as a matter of fact I have Ansel Adams The Camera being shipped right now that I just bought on Amazon.

I appreciate the compliments on the photos and to be honest, I've really been enjoying shooting with the camera more and the rifle less but then again, I doubt you'll ever see me taking a picture of a wild pig before I put a hole in 'em. lol.

Pete, you're correct about the flowers and I was told what the first two were but can't remember the names. I do remember the butterfly is a Tiger Swallowtail.

Those are very nice and colorful shots.

If you study Ansel Adams are you going to take everything in black and white??

hey dave, one fall i gathered a lot of buckeye seeds
from a bush on the side of the road. i then planted
the seeds on my property in numerous locations. i
believe every seed came up, that was 4-5 years ago,
last year i had some to bloom and produce a few
seeds. this year i have about 15 bushes blooming,
very interesting plant. squirrels love the seeds. by
the way, really enjoyed your pictures.

Very nice pics. You have a good eye for knowing what to snap. Today's cameras can take incredible pictures but the person behind it has to have a knack for knowing how the picture will turn out before the shutter is clicked. Jim
