Never enough time to fix it right

My first discing for the season started out bad. The disc blades were rusted from winter rains, I was discing in heavy adobe ground. The strain must have been too much for the disc hitch. I got to the end, and turned and saw my disc sitting where it came off. I was going down hill so I didn't notice when it came off. I chained the disc to the tractor hitch to finish. I knew it was getting bad, but didn't fix it quick enough. Yesterday I spent the after noon bending a piece of shaft and welding it back on the hitch. That was my Saturday, how was yours? Stan

Tried to get the riding mower out for the first time. It ran terrible; replaced the fuel line and cleaned the carburetor - much better now. I suspect ethanol in the gas got to it.

Yesterday and today have been the first decent weather of the season
so I have been putting batteries back in the tractors to get them out of
winter storage as well as helping a friend do the same.
So far I've had one that actually started without any other work.
I've got 6 of mine running, mostly just moisture in the distributors.
Sunshine and tractors. Good times! :)

Got my old Ford out to aerate some lawns. Just got the drum filled up with water to go to work when she died... graveyard dead. Would turn over but would'nt light off.
Traced the problem through the coil and into the distributor. Tore into it and lo and behold the insulator that the wire to the points and condenser goes through had disintegrated, and she was grounding out.
Made a wire that I connected from coil directly to points/condenser, shot a little RTV into the hole the wire passed through to seal it up and was back in business.
Fixed it and eliminated a bunch of unnecessary parts..(brass bolt and copper conductor)
Cant wait to try and get the weed-eater running.

Kinda like me, you don't have time to do it right, but you always have time to do it over.

I'm asking myself how my weekend could be so bad, yet so good all at the same time. Got the remodeled chicken coop moved out of the shop, drug into place, leveled and hooked to power yesterday with the help of my son and a couple of his friends who just happened to stop in at the right time. Couldn't sleep last night because of the hand injury. Tried to do too much before the deadening wore off. Today with the help of my son and his wife I got some junk loaded up for a trip to the scrapper tomorrow. At least the temp got to above 50 today. Jim

I had to pull a hydro pump out of my lawn mower, been leaking oil for 2 seasons, finally got fed up and bought a rebuilt pump on eBay, dropped the other one off at the dealer for a rebuild. Lol.

Same here but had a clogged air filter and a flat tire with the bead separated from the rim, had a heck of a time getting air into it. Runs nice now that the mouse nest is cleaned out!
