I have a good mole gitter.....

i had a red Dobie that i swear was crossed with a ditch witch...she trenched my yard going after gophers and gottem in the end...never could teach her to fill trenches tho.
 
My sis-in-law, who lives on the lower end of my acreage, walks her little black dachshund on a leash on my place two or three times a day. His favorite thing is to kill moles---more than 30 over the past two years. He killed two yesterday. He doesn't ditch-witch the place; he zeroes in and goes straight for the gold. Dangdest thing I've ever seen.
 
In brandys younger days that was her thing to rid the yard of moles. She'd stand and listen, then suddenly pounce on the spot, about 4 swipes with her paws, and that mole was hers. Never dug a bigger hole than it took to get it out.
 
Use to have lots of moles. This year don't have any. Is it the wife's five cats or is it the cool weather? Have no dog.
 
My 3rd black lab Lucy, was a mole's death warrant. First year I had her the back yard looked like a battlefield. After that it was more like a minefield. That's why I mow it with a lawn tractor.
