What county are you in? We , my son and his girl, are hosting an exchange girl from Antrim county, Northeren Ireland. They are in Jr.Farmers, as they call themseleves here , Young Farmers on your side of the pond. Needless to say, I have to listen very close, to understand her when we talk. 5 generations here has taken the celtic out of my ears I guess. Bruce

Bruce, I am from Orchard county, County Armagh. We also did youth exchange when we were in YFCU (Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster) My sister in law also travelled to Canada on youth exchange. I have spent a bit of time in and around Cobourg and Hamilton and Prince Edward County. I have family friends around there.

Please excuse my spelling, as I have just returned from a night at the pub with a few other farmers , after a dairy meeting.Coubreg is only an hours drive from me. And yes Young farmers of Ulster, is I belive the correct name. My great greatgrandfather came from Scotland in about 1845, on my fathers side.My fathers mother, Munroe clan, great great grandfather arived in Canada in 1830's.One other thing, ever herd of a farm called Ballybeany? Bruce

Ballybeeny Holsteins?
Even if you are slightly tipsy, can you read the Ulster Scots?. It is spelt exactly as it is pronounced. In other words 'de ye ken?'(yer lass weel unerstan)

Ok Sam40, It is now the next day. I can think a wee bit clearer . Yes Ballybeeny Hostiens. This Gent moved here a few years back, and we are acquainted, talks of over home . Just wondering how far fame/notoriety travles. Bruce
