Had to split the ol tractor to get the broken piece of pto shaft out. Its to wet to play outside so I might as well get all greasey inside :wink:

At least you have some good wood cribbing available. :)

That is just what I was thinking , job would not have took so long but he had to go all over the country finding that wood cribbing. Not ever body got access to that kind of blocking.
 
Spline on that shaft look like the one on the input shaft on my 1944 JD B. It had a broken tooth on a bull gear that fell into the PTO gears. Kind of messed up a whole bunch of stuff.
 
Buddy of mine would just strip a few gears out of the tranny, throw the pto junk in the scrap pile, stick a bunch of weights on it and go tractor pulling.........
 
We ground a lot of hay back in the 80's and 90's with a G1000 moline and never had that happen, may I ask what you were running that caused that? Those splines on the shaft look hardly worn, the last one we did clutch work on had only about a third of the spline thickness left on it.
