How many of you guys use your tractors without the fenders. Our H has not had fenders since for ever. They came off for the cultivator and I've never seen them on it. My grandpa bought it new in 53 and they have been gone since I can remember as a kid.
I ran into a couple of guys in IL that had tractors with no fenders. One told me the same thing we did. They were going to the big deere show in Ia at the time.

Most of the old tractors came with NO fenders. They were an option/speacial order. Most farmers wouldn't spend the money....Fenders were "unnessesary".BTW I have a SC;SH;M;just aquired an MD;and a lonely Oliver '60'. All without fenders....My SM has 706 clamshells, they look like they belong there.

The tractors on the farm in my youth were a JD50, AC WD & WD45. I didn't know fenders were a possibility for the JD! I didn't run that one a whole lot. It just wasn't kid friendly. Lack of fenders was just one of the reasons.
As I was turning eleven years old, the 50 went and a new 2510 showed up. Fenders! With lights all over the place! Power steering- three point hitch- it was amazing!

Delta Our Our MD we took them off .There is no room to get by the fenders to drive. Looks better that way too. Our 1466 we took the cab off to go through the rear end. Have never put it back on. Probably will just not there yet.

We never had a tractor with fenders when I was at home. I remember how we almost got hypnotized watching the tire lugs though.
I restored a Farmall F14 and put a set of fenders on it. It sure dressed it up and they weren't in the way.
My 574 is very comfortable with fenders.

The loader tractor is open station - it is fenderless. Everything else has fenders of some fashion. I think that loader tractor would be a pain with them, but I wish I had something when I am in the mud. Maybe I will find something I like from another model and use those someday.

My F20 does not have fenders.
All of the others do, including the F12.
I like to have them, just haven't found any for the F20.
I really like them on my snow plowers with chains.

If you looking for F 20 fenders try The Fordson House Escabana, michigan or Tired Iron Farms, Bristol,IN.

The fenders are off my 960 puller in order to make the weight class. A friend was backing another friends 1206 up to his trailer to add weight when the seat fell off. He went over backwards with his face inches from the turning wheel as the wheels were hopping, until someone got to the clutch. The seat was not properly secured.

At Is it just me, or are many of the tractors that never had or lost there fenders when new had stright rear axels? ie Jd A, B, 50, 60, Ihc M, H, C?
Cause, now almost every AC ive seen has a rear axel that is[, and as best as I can tell, all the WC Wd Wd45 B C Ca and Dseries had fenders standard. Same for the IHC B.
Now, I know my dad always talks about how as a kid, they had to remount the fenders to use the corn picker, yet they always got put back. I also know we have a Wd and a Wd 45 where both owned by the same person new (also the person we bought them from) and they both only have their left fender remaining.

Until the new tractors of the 60's arrived I only saw two tractors with fenders, one a 730D and a similar vintage Oliver. The exception being Fords which I never seen without fenders. Fenders really took off with the IH 06 family and the new generation Deeres.
