Good day, I was at my brothers friends place today. He has a
sawmill that they built back in the seventies. It is powered by
an old Murphy diesel engine out of an old Northwest dragline.
what a beast,It has to be 5 feet tall from the oil pan to the top
of the head. Full throttle it only turns 900 rpm. I think it has two
intake and two exhaust valves for each cylinder.
He says it uses about a gallon of fuel an hour.
It made my day just to see it.
