Ford 1968 2000 Removing, Dust cover in side of Distributor

,,how do we go about removing the dust cover inside of the distributoron 3 cyl ford 2ooo gas, we pulled of the cap,an rotor,dose the dust cover push down and then turns to the right or left or how dose it come out There's a lot of dirt inside the Dist,,one side of it wasnt lock down

Pull it straight up. it will be hard to grab it so a hook to the center hole might help loosen it up.. be careful and patient so you don't crack it.

Pulls straight up. Yes they can be hard to grab hold of but should if it moves any be able to be grabbed and pull off easy

Thanks again for helping us out we tryed the wire down the center hole and that help alot We dont know much about ford tractors so we are learning as we read this tractor site ,,its been good for myself and the boy,,,and im sure as time plays out we will be asking again, thanks
