Calling all auto mechanics

Going to be taking the fuel tank off a Toyota Camry in a few day, and was wondering what the proper way to remove the big evap line is. It's the biggest line that starts in the middle of the picture, makes a right angle turn, and goes to the left and up toward the corner. Extremely hard to get off. Is there a proper tool to get this off? Appreciate all comments.

it looks like the metal clips on the band need to be gently pryed open a little to release the line. it should then just slip off. it has an o-ring inside for the seal. if it is a spring type, like an ac line or fuel pressure line, you will need a release tool. it is a plastic "collar" than snaps around the line, then slides inside the fitting to release the spring. lisle makes an inexpensive set that works pretty good. here is a link.

Don't know what your problem with this is. I did post on a Toyota site once. Nobody knew anything. I know that there are mechanics on this site that may know a thing or two about my problem. I also clearly labeled that this was not a tractor question, but an auto mechanic question. Thank you to Glennster for answering. The Lisle tool is what I was looking for.

Maybe there are some guys on this site that know more than they do on the Toyota site. My ex-wife ran off with a supposed hot shot Toyota mechanic. He couldn't find his a?? with both hands, a road map and a flashlight.

Gene, if you're so worried about this post not being tractor related, why don't ya respond to the other posts below that are not tractor related????

no problem, glad i could help. also, if the fitting is a little rusted or gritty, spray some penetrating oil up inside the fitting to flush it out. a little compressed air will help to. if they have debris up inside, they can be a bugger to get loose. if the spring does break, napa has replacements.

On some lines if the clips are white you pry clip out with screwdriver or something small, if the clips are green or yellow you press in with something small to release. Pull while your press in or pry out. The clips are small plastic around line. You may have to wipe dirt off to see. I can't tell from picture. A lot of newer ones have the small clips. Hopes this helps.

Blow it out with air, then push down and squeeze the
bottom under the tabs. While still squeezing, twist the
connector back and forth until it comes off.

You squeeze it to release the lock'n tabs BUT most of the time I can not do it so I use a pocket screwdriver to release each tab (2)....

Engineers come up with some real stupid chit and most are very proud of it ... Its made so a overpaid asy person can push it on its called production what ever that means
