Seems like a few months back I heard that Hayrides in Illinois are illegal. Has anyone else heard this? Thanks, John

Seems to me to be outdated. I know that in MN if you get caught with a kid in the bed of a truck you are in just a wee bit of trouble.

John, I've never heard that but I do hay rides around my hay field twice a year....Independence day and Halloween.

AZ had a bill to forbid passengers in the cargo area come up in the legislature, but the Hispanics staged a bunch of protests so they didn't pass the bill.

I don't know aboot hayrides, but at the tractor shows in the past year or two the shuttle wagons have people sitting facing each other, where as it use to be you could sit facing the outside of the wagon and your feet toward the outside.

I know that the most "church" insurance carriers strongly discourage hayrides. But they strongly discourage a lot of things. Is it they don't want anyone hurt? or they don't want to pay any claims? You decide. gobble

When I lived in FL it was illegal to haul anyone in the bed of a pickup except for migrant farm workers. Apparently their lives are not worth much to the people in the FL state legislature?

I can't imagine the cops patrolling fields and farm lanes, so I expect that the authority having jurisdiction here is the insurance carrier.

Well then it looks like I won't be able to visit my
sister & her family in Minneapolis, because my kid
loves to ride in the bed of my truck. The cab is
mine, & the bed is hers.

Doc
PS: My kid is a Pigmy Alpine Goat that thinks she is
a dog. Actually, I'm the Old Goat & she's just my
"redneck dog" .
