borrowed a brillion from neighbor, need to set rear box for alfalfa. seed man says to use 2.5 lbs per acre if we plant grass along with it, rear box is set with micro-nut, is number to be seen by outside nut or inside nut?

The shaft the nut threads on to has a flat side with the numbers on it.The nut has letters on it.
That's light on the seed.(IMO)

I have realize seed rate is low, my question was about setting on drill and if number was to be on left side of bearing or right side.

The nut and number system is for REFERENCE only. In real world you will need to load the unit and make a test run. Will take some time to figure out what it is putting out. Seems you are real light on the seed.

25 lbs???? Wasteful and spendy. Even with a grain drill, 15 is enough. Brillion or other packer, 8-10 gives an excellent stand.

after much investigation and discussion, have decided to calibrate old fashion way. I will fill one half with seed and turn shaft 345 times and measure seed weight, times two and that will be correct pounds per acre. thanks for input to all
