Rowcrop 4020 with wide tires

I recently found a late model side console power shift 4020 diesel tractor which is a factory row crop according to the serial number. However, this tractor has 23.1x30 rear tires. I talked to the original owner, who claims it came from the factory with this size tire. I have never seen another row crop tractor with this size before. I was just wondering if anyone else has.(?) Thanks

Yup,a few came that way.I think they were from rice country,or maybe the 'drylands'.Almost bought one once.Should have,it was a he!! of a good tractor.

Was a few around here years ago. Mainly dairy farmers that needed more rubber on the ground to pull choppers.

We were Case dealers at that time, here in central NY., and ordered them on some of the 9-1030's we sold. Nobody used a tractor that size to plant or cultivate with. They were tillage and PTO horses.

I once rented a 1086 Farmall from the local IH dealer with that size tires on the rear.

most of the 4020's I have seen here in NE Wyoming have all had that size of tire back in the day "bigger was better" applied to tires here my self I have found a 20.8x38 got much better grip and duals gave better floatation

I"ve seen some......usually with a plow at 18 inches or the wider variable width models.......that can go 20 or so.... Crunches the furrow a bit, but it works.
