OT— This would be worth a trip

That story has been discussed on here at least 4-5 times. It's now been on the national news and all over the collector car sites. I wouldn't want to be within a 100 miles of there. The crowd that this auction is going to attract should be enormous as well as the prices for the vehicles. Add the national media and you have all the ingredients for a real circus. Granted the collection of cars is fantastic but the publicity has gone worldwide and will attract tens of thousands of buyers and spectators. I'll bet you can't find a motel or hotel room within 200 miles of there on that weekend.

It will be interesting to see just how much those vehicles go for. I was thinking the other day that even though several are basically new and stored in a building, I believe I would still want to replace all the belts and hoses. Tires too, IF you intended to drive it. But I doubt if any of them will ever see many road miles. Most will likely become trailer queens.

I'm in the Omaha area nad can't make the auction because of a wedding I have to attend. Would be interested in just seeing the vehicles, not so much buying anything. Some of the tractor shows I have been to this summer have been in conjunction with car shows and it has been well discussed. It's kind of the holy grail for some car collectors. My dad has always been into corvairs and one of them up for sale only has 1 mile on the odometer. Like he said it would be cool to basically have a brand new corvair, but then what do you do with it. Wipe the dust off and store it or repair it and drive it??
