OT Any appliance repairmen on board? Gas Dryer

Older Whirlpool gas dryer converted to propane. Ignitor cycles properly, (recently replaced with newer "M" style.). Ignitor sensor switching properly. Appears that valve is not opening when ignitor switches off. Sometimes gas comes on and burns for 30 seconds or so. Then goes back off.
I have one voltmeter across the ignitor sensor, and it is reading properly - Voltage when switch open (ignitor hot) - no votage when switch closed (ignitor cold). Volt meter on incoming wires to valve/ignitor/sensor is showing voltage, indicating that upline thermostats are conducting. This would mean the valve or the solonoids are not working properly? New soloniod coils run about $90, and I don"t want to know what the valve AND solonoid coils cost...

Any suggestions?

(Got a feeling this is going to cost me a NEW washer AND dryer before this all plays out.)

I have been using U Tube videos from repairclinic.com. They take you through the troubleshooting and the parts they sell are very reasonable. Went through the same problem with my Kenmore dryer a few months ago. Gas valve solenoids were about $20 for both of them. Sears wanted about $37 each.

Unfortunately, this is an older machine. Solonoid coils are all attached to complete wiring harness, replaced as a "unit". Repairclinic is showing parts for about $85. I have used them several times, usually one of the less expensive, and since they're in state, so delivery is very prompt.

Replace the coils on the gas valve and that will fix it. The very same symptoms on our Maytag DG305 and new coils fixed it. There were three coils and they cost around $15 apiece 12 years ago.
