A friend has a 1989 Ford Ranger and she is in need to the drivers side front drive shaft. Ford no long has them and so far no salvage yard in the area has them. She broke the lock out hub u-joint O that the joint fits in. Any body know where I might find that shaft.
Thanks

Be sure to check the Bronco II had a similar running gear.BTDT

If the pieces are there, then machine shop repair is an option.

Just my nickels worth

Are you looking for the short section of axle shaft that goes from the outer u-joint into the hub? That piece is the same on both sides of the truck and the same for Rangers and Bronco IIs from 1983 through 1989. I can help if you don't find something closer.

I think I have a Chiltons repair manual for that model if you need it. Pretty sure the pages that are for what you are working on are super greasy but just let me know if need it. Sold the truck a while ago.

Yes we need the part that goes into the lock out side of the shaft which in turn has a u-joint then the shaft that goes to the pumpkin. My e-mail is open so if you can please let me know how much I can then let her know then go from there

Thanks but I have a pile of Chilton and other such manuals so high that if you stack them up they are taller then I am LOL. Another one of the things I collect

Dang and i scraped one a couple years ago . Now if she needed and engine and auto tranny and transfer case you would be in luck as i have one that only has 68000 miles on them.

If it did not cost so much to ship she would love to have a spare engine. I keep patching this truck up for her. She Has COPD so does not have a lot of $$ to play with but yet has to get places and here in Missouri some areas you need 4X4 to get you in and out and her place is like that. Her 2.9 V-6 is a bit on the weak side so she keep a block of wood with her so when she parks it on a hill she throws that block under a tire just in case

I have an 84 Ford Bronco II in my backyard that I am going to scrap out cuz no one around here wants it. If you don't find the part, let me know and I will pull it out. You can have it for postage.

Do not know for sure. I know from what I know of this truck that it might not be a bad idea to have an extra one on hand just in case the other side goes also. This poor truck was owned by and driven by kids before this gal got it so it was used and abused a lot

So you still have my home address??? I thought about calling you but since my old computer died on me I no longer have your phone number or e-mail for that matter. By the way I looked at a Mosin Nagant M51 the other day. I can buy them 5 plus for $125 each.
Thanks and I know she will thank you also
