Re-upped all my stuff on CL the other day and as usual I got 8 to 10 emails in response, Email harvesters and scammers. I had to check, so the first one says "please respond if you are a real person...yadda..yadda".Goes on about being tired of the scams,long paragraph. Finger is headed for the keys to respond and I stop. Maybe I should look at the others before I respond and sure enough they all said the same thing. By the way some of the listing were tractor parts so it is tractor talk related.

On any e-mails, I first look at the left column to see the sender's e-mail address. If it looks questionable, I immediately delete it without opening. I have also been asking responders to include their city/town/state location and phone number and best time to call them as I am out a lot. Then I do a reverse look up to see if phone area code matches their location. So far, it has cut down on unwanted trash.

My father-in-law would always open every e-mail because it might be someone very important that wants to talk with him. We cleaned out his e-mail files and cleaned viruses on his computer. In the next 3 or 4 hours, he would open another 250 to 400 junk mails and undo all the work we did.
 
I posted on craigslist too. I get emails from woman wanting to do bad things to me, nice well developed pic included.
 
Had a scammer come out to the farm to look at a old ford planter I had on CL tried everything in the world for me to sell it to him at his price I was just wait for him to have a check for twice the amount and I should give back half in cash.
 
There's a little spot below your post on there that prevents you from getting any e-mails. Punch on it and just leave your phone # for responses. These people DON'T want to talk to you on the phone. All you will get are legitimate responses. Been there , done that.
