Cherish the times you have as it won't be long her name will be changed and have a career and then grand kids. Time does fly. Although I cherish my grandkids , I find myself distanced some from my "daddy.s girl". Gonna start working on fixin' that here pretty quick.

My oldest graduated from College this June and is off on her own in Michigan with her "Big Girl Job" miss her a lot. P.S. I like the Basset, we're on our second here all have been named after WWII bombers.

Cherish the moments - even from a mom's perspective, once they get married, it's different... not bad, just different.

Bassets "...all have been named after WWII bombers."

Just so long as they don't leave poopy bombs around the house. LOL

This is my adopted "Daughter ?". As I've stated before, I've outlived two wives and all of my children; and in this country (US) they don't let single men adopt children - SO, I adopted a "Kid" and I'm raising her just as if she were my "own" daughter.

My daughter graduated from Michigan State this summer with a degree in astrophysics. We dropped her off in August at the University of Oklahoma for grad school. She'll be working on her PhD.

your doing good shes going to colledge and can shoot too , dont worry about the married part, mine isnt either and i keep the boys run off mines finishing up her masters degree and she's going to get her education first so she wont have to rely of somebody to make her living , the town guys are well, disapointing, around here hopefully when she gets out and her career started she will find one with some potential to be somebody other than a burger flipper and a couch bum

lucky little one.

The 4th is a great day to have a birthday! I never had to go to school or work on my B-day (more than one time).

Then that night people shoot off fireworks for you.

A number of years ago our grade school principal (a single man) adopted a child, so it must be your state that doesn't allow it. Indiana does, although it may be uncommon.

Spent the weekend baling hay with my girl. She can run the Vermeer 605H better that me. A senior in HS with eyes for the university next year. These days are special and fleeting...
