I posted some photos earlier this summer of the deer stand I built mostly with free stuff from Craigslist this summer.
We brought it up on my trailer in late July and set it in place.
Yesterday we were up there and got the 110V line trenched in to it for the electric heater.
Then we took the chain saw and cut some shooting lanes.
Took a couple of photos afterwards.
The stand sits on the rim overlooking an extinct gravel pit. I keep a couple of deer plots planted there. About 225 yards is all the farther you can shoot.
Wet, rainy afternoon yesterday. Came home soaked and muddy but satisfied.
4 weeks from yesterday we'll be sitting in it.
Only this year in just a blaze orange shirt instead of being bundled up so you can hardly move.

Almost looks like an elevated stand in the last couple shots.
The boys and I worked on our stand a bit yesterday, too. 2 cans of spray paint don't go real far with boys using them. (didn't expect to cover the whole thing...) Windy, but no rain here.

Now ya gotta find a beer fridge, George Foreman grill, and a big screen and it's complete.....

That is really neat! Ever thought about bu9ilding them for sale?
In the last ten years or so, my BIL has built about three little shacks,(but none of them looked that good!), because his legs will not let him climb to a tree stand anymore, but his doesn't have heat either.

And I thought I had it rough. I run an invertor off of a 12 volt battery to run the ceiling fan in mine. We just elevated mine today. Whoever thought they had to have the base of it 11 feet in the air, should have their head examined. It is 8x8x8 and very well insulated with wall mounted furnace.
Would love to have your electricity. Looks great.

I thought about that insulation I have for you about halfway home last night.
You might not get it before deer season. Sorry about that.

Jerry- I"m trying to think of some snappy (ok- smart axx) response, but I discounted all of them, except.......cool! Good luck hunting! And yeah, you still want to plow some furrows? We can do that- I need to loosen some dirt to get down to good clay to fill in, in the yard. Took the old shop down, making a better farm yard.

Wow---I am envious....gotta build one of those for myself one of these years....I'm getting too old to be strapped to a tree in a portable hang on....

Looks like the Fall colors by your place are just past peak? Pretty with the maple, birch and conifers..good luck hunting this year...looking forward to a "success text msg"...live from the stand...I mean the "standmahal".

P.S. Came close last Sunday to getting my shot, but a doe busted me...better times are coming in the next few weeks.

Tim...
