Headline: raid finds cocaine, pot, and cash. Or, raid finds cocaine, pot, and gun(s).
I don't condone drugs. I understand the connection made above. But are the masses being conditioned to think that a decent amount of cash, or gun(s), is wrong, illegal, needs to be reported?

Typically the cash is drug money and allows them to seize it. The guns are often illegal because the dopers are often felons and can't possess them or the are stolen. If they get convicted, then the guns can't be given back to them.

The way it works is that the scums that sell cocaine do not go out and buy guns at stores that do the background check. And the cash usually has traces of white powder on it. The cash is from selling the drugs.

I understand what you are saying, cash in the hands of lawabiding working people is a normal thing, and owning guns is a lawful activity but....if you throw illegal narcotics in with cash and guns then it is just more evidence against drug dealers.

Seems to be a stigma with cash and guns.

I carry cash. Usually several thousand dollars. I will occasionally get comments and had a rumor spread that I must be doing something illegal to have that much cash all the time.

I carry cash to get discounts on fuel. Can be as much as .06 per gallon at the major truck stops. That's a good discount when I buy 200 gallons at a time.

When traveling, and I find a treasure, it's darn tough to buy with checks or credit cards.

I also always have a gun in the truck and several in the house.

Nothing illegal or wrong with it.

Ya now days if you have say $500 cash on you for some odd reason your a crook and if you have that and a gun then you are for sure a crook up to no good. Sad how the Gov. wants people to have there money in a bank and you use a debt or credit card to buy things with or your doing wrong

If there's a gun anywhere in the vicinity of a crime, it's an aggravating factor. As for the cash, drug forfeiture laws mean the cops get to pocket that money.

Dean,

"Nothing illegal or wrong with it."

you have 2 problems money and a gun,

Where did you get the drugs from?

Now they have their DRUGS your MONEY and your GUN,
and you have a date with a Judge.

Not everyone is Guilty.

Someone got an idea and started testing cash for drug residue when dogs were hitting on wallets for drugs. Then someone started pulling bills out of circulation and testing them. They determined that within a couple months of going into circulation virtually every dollar bill has drug residue on it.
