I'm listening to the astronauts on the International Space Station on a live feed while I work...they are trying to unhook a stubborn hose coupling on an ammonia line.
There is a button they have to push for release. The button will not depress. They had a screw-tool in there to help, I think take the strain off the line, but nothing.
I was thinking to myself "If it was me, I'd rap it with the backside of a pair of pliers."
As mission control was "working the problem", they just came up with "Rap it with something, like one of the (tool) tether hooks".
Basically, beat it with a big carabiner hook-thingy.
Not pliers, but still!
They just got it!
