My son shot a video on his smart phone and downloaded it in to my computer. Windows 7 video player. He must have held the smartphone upright instead of sideways and now the video in the computer is laying sideways,90 degrees from what it should be. Is there a way to rotate that like you can with a photo?

I'm a computer DUMMY but that's easy just turn monitor 90 degrees. Devil made me state that.

Sometimes I wish I knew as much about computers as my grand daughters.

(quoted from post at 11:53:37 12/27/13) Pull it up in Windows Live Movie Maker. You can rotate it there.
Yes, that is how I edit my youtube movies. I shoot sometimes with the camera upside down depending on the mount and situation. I know I can always turn the video right side up when I get it on the computer to edit.

Windows Movie Maker either works on your computer or it doesn"t. When it did work I found it hard to use, but it"s free and plenty of people use it. If it doesn"t work, don"t waste your time trying to fix it.

For cheap and easy video editing the best product I found is from a company called Corel. You can try a free download for a month or so, full licensed version is under $100.
