Piping out the Old Year and piping in the New one....don't worry, it's a Scots-Irish tradition and not compulsory!.... It's New Year 2014 here in Northern Ireland....(We are on London time), and I just want to thank you all for letting me into a bit of your lives during this past year. Sometimes I feel a bit of a stranger and don't understand some of your phrases or what the 'ell you are talking about....But someone soon comes along and explains it better! You all have given me a great insight into the American way of life....I love America, Love travelling in it and meeting the Country people....salt of the Earth, but you only see the bright sides when you are a tourist for 2 weeks a year....Through this forum I have found out just how warm it gets and how cold...I have found out you folk argue about which tractor is best and worst, which car/pick-up is best or worse and the same for every walk of life.....You know ....you guys are not that much different to us lot over here! Through your photos, I have seen parts of America and Canada, that I have not yet visited......
I want to thank you all for welcoming me in and wish you all a very Happy, Healthy, and Prosporous 2014

Thanks for sharing your pics as well. I have never been out of this country but would like to. Your country looks like it would be fun to visit.

Sam, Happy New Year to you and your family.
Really enjoy your pictures of the Irish country side and your insight to farming in Ireland.

JimB still in 2013 with lots of snow and very cold.

Happy New Year!
Thanks for all your photos and comments. The world really is shrinking and we're more alike than we like to think sometimes.

Happy New Year to you and yours. I always enjoy your pictures and posts. Nice to see a different part of the world and different farming practices.

Happy New Year to you and your family,,,it has been a pleasure meeting you,and hope it goes on for a long time,I do have Irish blood, might have to visit some day, never been there.

Fancy tartans, mate.

May you and Christine and the family have a good, safe and prosperous New Year.

May the sun be warm upon you, and all that you've built.
May the wind be behind you, and not up your kilt!!

Happy New Year to you all the way from Arkansas. Hope you have your best year ever in 2014. I enjoy your posts and pictures. I am going to have my wife teach me how to post pictures and I will send some from our area. God bless

Well A Happy NEW Year to you two. I enjoy your pictures a great deal.

I will never get over to see Ireland in person so your pictures are the next best thing.

I enjoyed talking to you down in Missouri last year. I liked reading the papers from Your great Country.

So Get that new shed done so we can help you find stuff to fill it with. LOL

PS I think you had a little too much good cheer already. I see your wearing your wife's cloths outside. LMAO

You need to come visit wearing that about now. I had -13 with 30 MPH winds yesterday morning during chores. They said it felt like 35 below. I bet that would COOL things off.

My tarten's better than yours :p
(Sorry the Scottish side came out again :))
Happy New Year to you and yours from myself and SadieMae

It's a two way swinging door, Sam. We enjoy having you and enjoy all the photos you post from your side of the pond. As you stated, I believe that the more common working class and especially those who farm or are associated with such, have more in common with each other than any other group.
The best to you and yours for the coming year.

Happy New Year to you and your family Sam. It still amazes me the different people from different parts of the world that get on here and share their knowledge.
