Sad day in Texas

Found out this morning that Texas legend, singer, song writer, cowboy poet, Steven Fromholz was killed in a hunting accident Sunday.

Fromholz wrote some fantastic music. His best work "Texas Trilogy", is an all time favorite of mine. Story of central Texas dust bowl, depression era ranch life. Marring young, growing up fast, drought, poverty, broke down trucks, screw worms, snake bite and cows living on prickley pears instead of growing grass... But wouldn't have it any other way!

We'll miss him, God rest his soul.
 
He was a good one. I live about 40 miles from Kopperl Tx in a little town very much like it and loved the song about it. I saw Steve live a couple of times. What a freak deal but it happens.
 
Steve, Late to see you post this am, My favorite song of his was "Dear Darci" or was it Letter to Darci. We had it played every Monday nite at "Speak Easy s" in Ft Worth.....Which wound up being Tarleton nite for Yrs! in the Early 70s.
