Yankee Siege won the world Championship for adult Trabuchea sp? in 2013 they are located about 10 miles from me in Greenfield Nh. I posted a picture of Tired Irons rig in the P feature day last night he is located in Hancock Nh. He competes as well didn't do as well tho. I am guessing you saw the picture last night. The fella that owns Yankee Siege has a large field he practices in there is a mote and a castle as well as other mideavel stuff that he shoots at he often does it for show around halloween.

This is aired on tv every Thanksgiving. I think it is Thanksgiving night. I have watched it the last few years. There are some creative minds who develop these machines.

Brian I am sorry I didn't answer you sooner I just went back and read all the posts your question showed up farther down I took a quick look this morning and didn't see any replies to my post. I see you looked it up on line look up Yankee Siege this guy is crazy.

We made a mortor once. Nothing as big as the chunkers use though.

Black powder powered and we shot pepsi cans filled with cement. We tried all sort of stuff. The most fun was cans filled with plaster of paris, and a 35mm film canister inside filled with black powder and a fuse to the outside of the can. When you shot it off, it lit the fuse and the thing blew up about 500 feet up in the air.

I love anything that shoots or blows up.

Few years back some pumpkin chunkers would come to
out Halifax co. Heritage fest. They'd set a junk
mini van down in a field about 1000 ft. and let
folks shoot at the van. Pumpkins weren't in season
in May but they used watermelons from south of us.
By the end of the day that van was tore up. They'd
sometime use onions for shot. That was like
shooting a giant shotgun. The cannon belonged to a
lady from Delaware. Several more years went by and
saw her win the Female Air Cannon championship on
TV.

And I though I was having fun as a kid would take a peach seed and put it on top of a 3/4 x 1 1/2 steel pipe and light a blackcat under it.

Some friends made oxygen/propane powered potato guns, they will go right through an outhouse!
I can't tell you how I know!
I would like to see a pumpkin airborne!
Sounds like a hoot!

Boys and I made a potato canon.. Sucker will launch a potato or apple over 500 feet.. From our back deck to well over the tree line..We use hairspray/Oxy. Few years ago my oldests girlfriend was out (now X) anywho.. we wondered what a potato put in first followed by an Egg would do.. We had the girl friend pull the trigger and the wind was coming toward her.. lets just say it wasnt pretty..

That's funny! I saw that picture and thought I recognized Tired Iron! I'm just over here in Milford. Did you go see American Chuncker at Trombly Gardens last fall?
