Friend needs help with farmall A

A; friend of mine who lives three hours away from me needs help with his Farmall A. He was plowing snow and the tractor just died on him about a month ago. He's been a missionary in Africa for the last 35 years and hasn't been around tractors much. We have been emailing back and forth but getting nowhere. He did take the valve cover off and found a pushrod out of place. Now he tells me no compression, I think he adjusted the valves on the exhaust stroke instead of the compression stroke.. The question is, does anyone live near Savannah NY who would be willing to take a look at it and give him a little guidance?
If you could, email me at [email protected].

Is he in a big hurry? My brother in law lives in
Savannah, or just up the road in South Butler, but he"s in Florida for another week or two.

did he check the fuse.. er.. pushrod for straightness?

did he check the valve and spring and rocker? lifter?

Whenever mine did that it was out of gas.It had stopped very abruptly making me think something was wrong. As long as you are on the heel of the cam the valve adjustment will be very similar as when on compression stroke.

He said it had gas in it, and he has 0 compression on all cylinders, Seems like he should have at least 10 or 15 pounds on some.
He made sure it had spark probably didn't check for straight pushrod
Ron/Pa, if you could email me we could discuss the problem more. This fella actually lives closer to
Butler, about 2 miles from there.

0comp all cysl.. and had push rods off valvetrain / lifters?

i'd be looking for a bunch o stuck valves!
