Dry to liquid fertilizer

Row Crop

I have always used dry fertilizer for my crops. Now I went and bought a liquid fertilizer corn planter. I usually apply 200 pounds of dry starter when planting. Does this mean I should put 20 gal of liquid at 2X2 per acre? I'm planting 30,000 population, and I spred my potash last fall. I'm thinking 10-34-0, and knifing in anhydrous after emergence. Opinions please!

You just need the same pounds of actual P/K/N as you where using in a dry product. We would need to know what the 200 lbs of dry was, 18-46-0, 9-23-30, or????????

Here on some of the heavy soils in the East farmers use 7-21-7 which puts a small amount of K in the band for the seedling. A fair amount of smaller farmers have stuck with dry planters for the same reasoning of having some K in the band.

I,m liquid now.Use 'starter'(9-18-9) in the seed furrow.Siddress liquid at cultivation.Costs a bit more than dry,but get more 'benefit and no loss during first irrigation.Rule of thumb(according to my fert guy) is one unit of N to one bushel of corn. 200 bushel corn needs 200 units. not pounds

I've been out of the fertilizer business long enough I don't remember all the weights per gallon. That being said, I think 32% nitrogen weighs 11.06lbs/gallon. 10-34-0 weighs about 12 sulphur around 11, and Potash, we handled dry. All that being said, to get to your 200 pounds of dry, which would have been a 18-46-60-2 actual applied, you are going to need to run about 12 gallons of 10-34-0 and bump the sulphur up a touch.

Row crop your 9-23-30-1 at two hundred lbs per acre was getting you:
18 Lbs of nitrogen
46 lbs of phosphorus
60 lbs of Potassium

20 gallons (230 lbs) of 10-34-0 per acre would give you:
23 lbs of nitrogen
78 lbs of phosphorus
0 lbs potassium

So if you spread Potash in the fall you would be close to what you used to use in dry.
